    57 pieces on E-bay--Exorbiant!!!!!!

    Hi Folks,

Am I missing something here???? I can't fathom the bid prices for these.

Am I crazy? or are they!

I wouldn't pay those prices (I'm a bottom-feeding bargain hunter). Perhaps someone with money to burn was desperate to fill a hole in their collection?

Wow, I gave away some of the Dk's/Wb's I've sold over the last year compared to these prices. The sad part is neither of these are 1st run, either!

The cross on sale (shown below) is a modern piece made today. You can find a 1957 German Cross manufactured between 1957 and 1960 from 250 Euro up to 350 Euro. Widen your horizon. Ebay is not the only place with militaria collectibles.

                Insane prices

                Peter,

I personaly have wide horizons, I posted these for discussion value. I just could not believe the bid prices when I saw them. Thought you folks might be amused. I know that 57s are getting harder to find and higher in price but I thought this to be ridiculous.

                    Thanks.

Does anyone feel they know why the price are rising and peices are getting scarce? It stands to reason that since these peices were being actively produced for 30 some odd years, there'd be more around. good ones being produced in the 60s to mid to late 70's. That's a long time. Now I am seeing examples of EK1s that are quickly catching up to the wartime versions prices.

                    Any ideas? Real or artificial?

Wow ... I didn't think anyone would EVER sell a 57 DKiG at a price like that. I suppose the key is whether the bids are real and the buyer actually pays

I must say one thing about that Seller regardless of the items he sells ... he does know how to take some amazing pictures. I bet 80% of his stuff he sells is due to the quality of photographs he takes make the items look like a MIllion Bucks .... even if they are worth nickles.

                        Darrell, well said.

Brien, although the later stuff can be found anywhere, as long as I can remember, the 1st run pieces were always hard to come by. The recent interest in these has led to the higher prices, of course.

Yes, but these prices are higher than good 3rd Reich originals. Ridiculus!

                            Hello

I agree, the price the DK in this tread went for is ridiculous. Now if you want a reasonably priced 57 DKiG, see this thread:

                            http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...89#post2837189

Of course, if anyone wanted to pay $1700 I'm sure it would be accepted

                            Regards
                            David
