Beobachter / Observer '57

Hello

This beauty arrived today. Last few months i have an obsession for Heeres Flak and Beobachter medals. Last month i was so lucky to add a wartime Beo to my collection at the price of a fake (real cheap deal) . And last week i found this really nice 57 version.

The detail is just great. The colour of the bird is much more silver than those on wartime pieces, who tend to be black.
Funny to see the toolmark on the needle near the hinge. This mark can also be found on wartime medals.

By the looks of the bird, i'd say this an Assmann design but i can be wrong. What maker do you think it is?

Not an Assmann at all, but a textbook early S&L. The Assmann's used rivets on their 57's just like wartime versions with the "spun" shape to them. Nice badge!

Other than EKs and RKs none of the '57 stuff catches my fancy. However, this is a real nice piece. Early hardware to boot. Great piece
