Yes, my understanding is that they were made for Dietrich to rersemble the award patter he wore. The firma Steinhauer and Lueck also made diamonds as replacements. Somewhere, I have a post-war swastika Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords by Steinhauer.

This is a Steinhauer and Lueck Oak Leaves Swords and Brilliants. I assume it is made post-war as St&L was not an authorixed maker of the Brilliants. Wech of the rhinestones is hand set with 'fingers' holding them in place. The swords are finished, on the reverse.

                  Bob,
Is the cross in post #19 the postwar S&L-made swastika version or something else?

                    Leroy,

It is a non magnetic type B Steinhauer and Lueck make Knight's Cross. At this time, the research indicates that these are post-war produced, most probably for former awardees and dealers of awards. To date, I have never seen another Oak Leaves Swords and Brilliants like the set on the Steinhauer cross.

I just realized something, I've never seen any of these guys wearing a ribbon bar with anything higher than the RK. Did they not have bars for the Oaks, swords and diamonds?
