Hiag
Yes, "very actively"...in their own way. Monthly meetings, well attended.
Annual trips to Latvia, Hungary, Holland....Large Christmas reunion, Attendence of the Fallschirmjäger, U-Bootfahrer reunions....
For their age "very active" in my opinion.
I really do not know what is so funny about it.Last edited by markus; 07-15-2008, 06:44 PM.

But not all graves will be erased. Some of them are memorials because the tombstones are of historically value or there are popular und important people.
For example the graves from Mölders and Udet habe been restored and are still existing.

For me it was never neccesary to join a small club full of stupid Neonazis with silly phantasies to get in touch with history.
I've joined FFL, 2eme REP in 1980 - 18 y.o. - and had two heavy combat experiencec in Tschad and Libanon. Today I'm absolutely not proud about this.
I know exactly, what I'm talking about.
Believe it or not.Last edited by mbberlin; 07-16-2008, 09:13 AM.

Hello all .
Very nice and rare pics . Interesting thread . On the Sepp funeral pics , taken 20 yars after war , i see only " aged" men , with white-hairs ( sorry , my English-speaking " is poor ) , and not a lot of 40years-old men ( about 20 years during the war ) . Are most of youngs waffen soldiers dead at the end of the war in desespérate fightings or are just aged and expérimented or high-ranked officers who survived the end of war ?
Regards.

But, for example. A few weeks ago I asked a German friend to bring a RK from Germany to me. When I asked I could see his "shocking" face. But I think not because of the request but because he never expected someone like me to be interested in that time of the Geman history and DECORATIONS.
When he came back he just gave it to me without any comments. Now, I wonder if he thinks that I AM A NAZI!!!! I really hope not. I like the German football team, I like the German National Anthem, I like the German atletics uniforme, I like the Iron Cross, and I like German women, BUT I REALLY BELIEVE THAT I DO NOT LIKE NAZIS AND I AM NOT A NAZI.
Then, if I were during the time of that funeral I may go there just out of couriosity to see the vet soldiers and their decorations, but to be in one of those pictures would not make me a NAZI. I am not defending them or trying to make this a "polemic." It is just that I found interesting what you wrote.
Regards
Edgar

Criminals
Its understandable that many of us have great admiration for the german army and in particular for the SS due to their military achivments but lets not forget that the SS was catalogued as a criminal organization. Most of the guys were simply criminals, political fanatics that obey blindly orders from a mad man without questioning the moral rectitude of their actions. These guys wiped out entire cities with women and children included and that can not be catalogued as an act of valor or of any military achivement they are simply crimes against humanity.why did they do it??because they thought they would win the war and they would not be judge later on.
