Could we try to identify the badges and medals on the cushion?

I also believe the gaunt man on the left of Macher is Lammerding.

The medals on the pillow look to be......

          At the top.....Blood Order

Then the KC with OLS & Diamonds

L to R bottom row.....EKII, EKI, WWI Tank Badge, Pilot Observer's Badge with Diamonds.

What the small rectangular pin above the EKI is I can't make out. Maybe a '57 style EK spange?

          Tony

the pin above the EK1 is indeed the 57 spange, I don't sure about the top being the blood order since Dietrich wear his 57 form awards after the war and it would be pretty weird having the blood order with 57 awards.

              Hi Ingsoc.
Do you have a photo of Sepp Dietrich wearing his 1957 awards?

It could very well be his or another original Blood order as there was no '57 version of this political award. I say this because it was at the very top of the funeral pillow. What other decoration would take prescedence over the KC with OLS & Diamonds? I know of no other.

                  Hello

This might seem like a silly question, but what photos are you all looking at ? I can't see the new ones that Ingsoc has posted. All I have is a white box which says 'hot linking has been disabled for this domain'. On other sites and other threads in here I can view Imageshack items etc. Any ideas ?

                  Regards

                      Mat Holloway,
Thanks for answering my question with the link. I guess I have mixed feelings about it.
On one hand, there is no permanant "place of rest" for these dead warriors, but at the same time, the concept of permanent graves is something that we probably need to rethink, as the earth's population continues to grow.

The photos are showing up fine at my end. Do the rest of you still have problems?

Yes, I couldn't view them since yesterday, 18 Dec. When the images were originally posted I could view them, but not now.

                              Hello

The original photo posted by Hardy, (Naxos), I can see. It is the ones posted by Ingsoc that still aren't there - just a white box as described earlier.
