        Thanks...Love the look of this one. I did not yet have the DKIG in my collection and was holding out for quite a long time until I found an early one such as this, and one that had this particular look to the star portion.

          Very nice example, from the early to mid 60's period....
          A nice collection of S&L DK's can be made by obtaining the different starburst colours!!!

            Were the DKIG starbursts produced with varying degrees of black or has this piece just aged and the colour faded?

              Varying degrees is the answer. This is the almost copper coloured variation. I have this on my DKiS.

                There are many variants in the colours, including..... black, grey, copper, gold etc.

                  Yes ! All of them are fantastic and beautiful in their own way. Gold should be the rarest of them. I just found a bright gold one with Sapphires last week ... never seen this type of bright gold starburst before. Also the copper starburst can be super nice with it’s many different color shades.
