        Hello,
it is a good S&L piece, but a later one in my opinion.

        best regards

Ask the seller for the weight, the weight will tell for sure

Looks the later thicker one, but the front enamel is less pillowed than I'd expect. Really nice if you can pick it up. I'd love a later one to go with my lovely earlier one.

Nice. Hopefully it stays at 150 so I can get a good price

It‘s a nice S&L PLM. Way more worth than 150. It‘s also not a late production piece. Thick vs. thin... is not a safe indicator. Iˋve handled later made thin PLM’s, as well as thick pieces that were early post WW2 production.
The existing timeline for the pieces really needs a complete rework. It‘s also not a secret anymore that S&L was producing the PLM before 1945 as well.

To be honest Alex, i dont think there is much of an accepted timeline for the S&L PLM????
I know you have many nice examples, and are in a position to possibly use your knowledge of those pieces to start a good thread on them, and the variations!!
If we can give an approximate date for different types, and things like the wing flaw, the loops, the enamelling etc.
I hope its something that can be done......... even if there are still a few gaps in what we know!!!!

350-400 without case is a common number for these pieces. Anything less than that is a good deal.

Nigel, there is indeed a need for a timeline for S&L PLM‘s. I‘m willing to work on this issue with the examples in my collection. I‘m sure there are many collectors that could profit from this, if it would be made as a type of sticky thread.
Maybe that way the eBay fakers won‘t be able to fool collectors not as much as now.

It will take me time, that’s for sure. I will get back with you when I‘m ready to post.

                          Regards,

                          Alex

No problem Alex, i can make it a sticky thread, and, as you said, everyone can benefit from it!!
Whenever you have the time, it will be appreciated!!!
