And how you differ a hollow oak leaf with solid swords (like here) to a hollow oak leaf with hollow swords in timeline?
best regards

What kind of hint are you looking for in the Souval price listings - there never was a catalogue as such. Most Souval price listings should be treated with caution, as they didn‘t even list their entire product lineup. They are not helpful in order to establish a timeline.
As for categorizing Souval made products - it’s the same as with 1957 pieces - you study and you learn about these items - if you have a certain amount of knowledge about these pieces, you can start categorizing items.
I have spent an endless amount of hours studying these pieces in hand- a lot of them. It’s very helpful comparing these pieces in hand and next to each other, rather than relying on pictures only.
Talking to people who were in Vienna in the late 1960- mid 1970’s at the time and who were buying items from Mr. Umlauf right then and there was also helpful in being able to categorize items. Especially one of their “top sellers” like the Knights cross with OLS is a rather well documented piece.
Identifying later 1960’s made Souval items in general is not that difficult as pictured identification material also does exist.
As for the timeline for hollow oaks - you are welcome to establish a timeline of your own. What I’m categorizing is the result of my own research. I suggest you buy an example of each of the produced types and do a comparison - also pay attention as to which period of KC the hollow variant oaks are attached to...

Alex
