The close up shots show how well made it is. I hope the seller doesn't bump the price up after reading this thread. Buy it if you can. I wish I could.

Yes, I also think that the core paint is different. Hopefully you can buy this very nice and interesting cross!

Is this an early post-war cross? The feeling that it was worn.

The ribbon is modern reproduction, these can be found on eBay for pennies.

Matthieu, why such an opinion? What are the signs? Looks believable.

The edges of the ribbon, also the ribbon configuration. I've seen the around.

The triangular shaped stitching and the end of the ribbon and ribbon ties.

Mathijs is correct...this is the type of repro ribbon that is sold everywhere....sometimes dealers will split the original ribbon from a cross, replace it with a repro, and sell it separately ....
This ribbon has also been artificially aged to make it look like it has been worn!!

Guys, I bought the cross. Is there any similar information on the ribbon for the ' 57 and wartime cross? Show us what the original ribbon (before 1945 and 1957) looks like, what are the nuances? Thanks!

Many of the earliest 57 RK KVK's used leftover wartime ribbon......
After that, new ribbon was made, I can't remember the number of threads etc. but they will have the round loop ends along the edge of the ribbon!
WAF member "Green" aka Henk sells some earlier postwar ribbon for these, which I have bought myself, and am very happy with!!!

Nigel, I meant that I am interested in similar information on RK EK before 1945 and after 1957. Loops can be counted later, someone can show the original tapes on RK EK before 1945 and after 1957.

Believe 965 is a strange silver mark ... shouldn't it be 935 or 985 ? It might even be a wartime St&L loop.

Perhaps this is still 935 or 985?
                              Or the wartime cross itself?

                                985 with punch flaw
