    Hey, guys.
How do you like this post-war S&L? Type-?
    Is it a post-war early cross of the 1960s Or 1980s +?

Is the core magnetic or not? I think it isn't. I like it and would say late 50 early 60.

Is the loop marked with silver content?

Smashing piece ... "B" frame with knee flaw but with other very few beading flaws = very early postwar ?

Can I get a little more detail on that, please?

I only have these images. I don't know.

            See below picture ...

The "knee" flaw is a distinctly visible flaw in the frame which connects the 6 and 9 o'clock arms.
Hence when we see this flaw, we know its a "B" type frame by St&L.
The early 1957 type 1st pattern KC have the same flaw, but also very heavy flaws on the beading.

Makes me believe this might be an early postwar piece by St&L.

              Thanks Mathijs.
I saw this defect, but I didn't know it was called that. Larger photos.

Stunning piece ... if I had some extra money laying around, I'd buy it.

If you can buy it for a decent price, don't hesitate.

This cross is older than speculated and I would buy it in a second.

I don't know if it's "expert" or not. I have spent a great deal of time looking at S&L crosses. To me, this cross has the proper finishing, frosting and paint to be considered as a copy made during the war for display or some other purpose. The value, of course, is not that of an award piece, but there are really very, very few of these out there and I believe they well worth collecting if you are lucky enough to find one.

Ok👍for me you are an expert for S&l KCs. Ok so it is one like mine 835 marked B-Typ you know.

It is indeed a very nice cross but is the frosting "correct" for a war time "display" piece? It is not the very "white frosting" often seen on war time S&L B-pieces (935-4 and 800-4).

I'm very familiar with the frosting you refer to. Even on award pieces which have no real wear, you can see fading/diminishment, depending on atmospheric conditions, storage type, fingers rubbing the frame, etc.. I have the feeling that if this cross was "dipped" in a cleaner (which I would never recommend) some of that whiteness would come back.

Many thanks for your answer Leroy. The cross shown is IMO of very high quality. I have made a compairson with this cross and a cross I own (my cross on the right). I hope that is ok for Железный.
