Saw this on eBay and was wondering if I should make an offer. It seems correct to me, but what are your thoughts?

I’m uploading the link because the “security token” is missing

The way the splits are attached is pretty sloppy.

    Looks like someone reattached them.

I wouldn't waste my money on it.

    Better ones show up.

Ok, I’ve also been watching this one, could be late production.

Both items shown are way overpriced .... these should go around half the money they are asking.

I agree but if you take a look around on ebay things mostly do not sell for what they should.

Normally a lot more than one would think.

The first clasp shown I wouldn't buy, it has the black solder and less golden finish typical of later S&L pieces but the 4 prongs of earlier ones...also this seller has sold junk before!!
The second piece is nice, has the deeper golden finish and 4 prongs of an early piece, and is from a reputable seller!!
Price on these clasps is always open to debate, as you don't actually get much for your money, but as far as early examples are concerned, they are rarer than many of the top end pieces that collectors are willing to pay BIG money for!!
If you are only going to buy one, or one of each (Heer, KM, Luft) I would try and find a cased example, that makes for a great, complete set!!

Cased examples are hard to come by.

All mine are cased but I was just lucky to acquire them.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. I might see if I can try to bring the 2nd one down on the price. I’ll see if I can make a deal potentially.

I brought him down to 80 euros, and I have $65 usd in eBay gift cards so I would only be paying 25 for it, is it worth it?

Personally, I wouldn't pay that much for it....
It appears to have one prong missing, the ribbon looks to have been glued down onto card, and the clasp itself would need rotating as it is mounted the wrong way round!!
So, for the money, I would look for a better example, unless he comes down much more on price!!!
