    What is it?

    Hello,
as part of a small 57 pilot's grouping, I also got this pin.

I assume that it could be from a post-war veteran gathering and I would like to learn more about it.

    - Which unit could be exactly behind the term "Staffel Ulm"?
    - Are there more of these needles and can they possibly be assigned to a meeting with a date?

What is shown on the needle:
    - Below is a front flight clasp for fighters in the 57er form.
    - On it the lettering "Staffel Ulm".
    - The Ulm Minster is shown above.

    Overall, a very good quality.

Can you help me with this piece?

    best regards
    Pattex

It is a really nice and quality stickpin!!
Its not one i have seen before, so I cant really help with any info on it!!
As you said, I assume it is for either for members of a Luftwaffe veterans association based in Ulm, or a veterans re-union held in Ulm???
Hope we can find out more!!

      I’m guessing that’s their cathedral.

Staffel is a Luftwaffe military unit (general term) - a Staffel usually had nine to 12 aircraft. Others had as few as five or six aircraft due to losses. The commanding officer of a Staffel was known as a Staffelkapitän and had the rank of Hauptmann, Oberleutnant or sometimes Leutnant.
