    Deumer Ostmedaille in Case

This is the second such set I have seen, the other had an earlier Deumer Ost inside, this one has the later glossy paint type variant!
The case appears to date from approximately the same period as the Ost, and the inner tray has a recess, that fits the size and shape of the medal....
In terms of materials and construction the case does not match any other Deumer cases I have, for their EK,KVK, etc. so I am thinking it could be a retailers case, rather than a makers one??

    Hello Nigel,
interesting piece, is it possible to see pictures of the inlet without the east medal?

I know such cases for clocks or coins, but I'm not sure with this one.

    best regards

          Hello Nigel,
it realy looks as it was made for the eastmedal.

Is it possible to take the inlet out and take a look on the backside?

          best regards

I just tried taking the tray out, it will lift a little at one side and the front, but it is glued firmly in place on the left side, I managed to have a look underneath, and it looks like old type glue, with a number "82" written on the base, the underside of the tray is plain brown cardboard!!

                Thank you Nigel,
a very interesting piece, unfortunately the backside doesn't give more information to me .

I will keep my eyes open.

                best regards

Well thanks for having a look anyway
As you said, it doesn't tell us much more than we probably already knew....
Its not a case made from wartime leftovers, nor is it a modern made case!!
