    Help With Medical Insignia

I picked up a couple of women's officer coats the other day. One has the medical insignia with HD for hospital dietician. The other has a medical insignia that I have not seen before and can't find. It is very similar to medical services (MS) but this has WS instead. Any help to ID this, and what period is it from? The coat itself is dated 1944 and has a 5th service command patch on the shoulder. Thanks in advance for any help!

    Cheers,
    Terry

Womens Medical Service Corp. Used 1947- 1957. Dietitians, and therapists were particular skill sets involved.

Thank you very much Mr Cain. That fits with what I have. I believe both coats belonged to the same woman (same SSI) altho neither is named. The first coat has Lt bars and WWII ribbons and HD medical brass, she likely stayed in or came back for Korea and this Capt coat represents her later service time. Thanks!

      Cheers,
      Terry
