Vintage US Army Air Corps Officer Insignia Help Please

Today I found these Vintage US Army Air Corps Officer Insignia at a local swap meet. I want to know if they are genuine and what era they are from please. They are 1 3/4" wide with no markings that I can see.

They would seem rather wide for collar insignia.....Perhaps sweetheart pins or to go on a visor cap(?)....Bodes

They are original WWI Air Service officer's collar insignia.
