Kahki Straps with Strange Wire Hooks ?

I have the chance to pick these two straps up, but I have no idea what they are actually for. I am guessing that they may be WW1 vintage, but frankly I'm stumped.

Has anyone seen this stye of strap with hook ends?

I'm thinking straps for mounting to a bucket and used for picking fruit such as cherries.....Bodes

These are flat buckle USMC equipment suspenders.....Hook ends are similar, so perhaps yours are Marine Corps as well?....Bodes

I'm not certain they are US military.

Those twisted hooks are often found on French equipment but I have no idea what those straps are for.

            Just a hunch...

Sten Gun slings? Although slightly different, the round hooks seem similar
