    US ww2 Coffee cans ?

    Hello, i just picked up this two cans.
    The Nescafé looks to be before 1947 " Reg Us Pat Off"...
    But the other ?
    Are this cans ww2 era ?

      Perhaps I am missing something, but I see nothing to connect them to the military.

      Many Homefront items had special wartime patriotic packaging, which I don't see either.

      Actually, I suspect they are pre-WWII. One pound WWII era coffee cans tend to be short and squat (hence the name coffee can for a German SA cap.) They also were sealed with a metal ribbon that was removed using a key soldered to the bottom of the can.

      There are lists of what patents were issued in what years. If you could post the patent numbers, you could at least tell what the oldest they could be. Of course they could be much newer than the patent date, also.

          I have seen the Nescafé tin included in WW2 U.S.A. POW Red Cross parcels. So yes, the Nescafé tin is wartime. I would imagine they used Borden products also.

              I can confirm that also: this specific model of Nescafe tin was included in American Red Cross food parcels during WW2.
