What is this item????

Was hoping that someone might be able to identify, what I believe, is a bracelet of some kind. A family sent this photo to me with hopes that I could identify this item from their Grandfather's belongings who passed away recently. He was a pilot in the Pacific Rim during WWII. This is the only photo I have at this time.

Sweet heart type bracelet. Things guys sent to wives or girlfriends. Interesting. The two stars could mean two sons in service. A mother would wear that.
