Fascinating photographs!
In the first photo, your dad is obvioulsy enlisted and an officer in the second. Did he attend OCS or receive a battlefield commission?
Is that 501st PIR brass in the 2nd photo?
I'd love to know more about his service and his name!

Also of particular interest, are those DI's on his eppaulettes in the second photo and if so what regt./bn. are they?? and is this an unusual practice- they definately aren't 501st.
