Original WW2 US double buckle boots?

    Hello,

something went wrong with the pictures on my first post (photobucket) so I will try
    again.

Are these boots original WW2? I've read that some nations used almost the same boots after the war. France,Belgium,...?

These are WW2 US style double buckle boots in size 8.....The date is generally found on the green material inside where the buckles are (reads 1943 of 1944 ?)....I believe this type of boot also saw use in Korea....Bodes

Hey Bodes, thank you for the reply.

indeed, they continued to wear them in the Korean war but did they continue to produce them after the war until production began for the M1948 Russet boots?

If not,I'm sure they are original WW2. I think the date reads 1944...

      Regards

I would assume much of what was used in Korea was left over.....Of course, with the ending of WW2, it would have been natural for some production to slow or cease....With the heavy rationing stateside, would also seem the government would want to get back to producing peacetime goods as soon as possible...Bodes
