May I please get opinions on this canteen and cover. Recent vet acquisition but that doesn't always mean anything. The cover has markings and is field sewn in several places.

Hi Howard - legit example of a 2nd pattern USMC canteen cover. It bears the UNIS marking of B Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Engineers. This unit was part of the 4th Marine Division. Has a couple of field repairs, using reinforcing thread pattern. Original salty condition.Comment
