Help on some US web gear.. intact first aid kit

    Hey folks,

A bit out of my element.. Yes, Ive owned web belts and 45 ACP holsters but not an odd "Navy" marked accessory.. and an intact First aid kit.

What is the Navy item.. looks like it hold bullets?.. but doesnt make much sense.. hard to get to.

The Tex Tan holster is untouched and has the leg strap which is most times gone.

The first aid kit is very interesting.. Cant read the back but it has the powder and bandages.

Are these items hard to find?

I looked over the whole rig and cant find a date anywhere. I have to assume WW2 era.. ??

Thanks for any comments.. put then here or shoot me a PM.

    Cheers J

Don't know about the Navy pouch, but the rest including Carlisle pouch w/contents, belt and holster, are all common items....Khaki webgear is early and includes WW2 use......Bodes

The Navy item is a pouch for .38 special revolver ammunition. It was issued to US Naval aviators who were equipped with the .38 special.

It did not make much sense and was quite unpopular.

What kind of buckles are on the belt? That is the giveaway as to the era for OD3 pistol belts.

                Large tongue = M1912
                Small tongue = M1936

Also a stamp on the belt I didnt notice before?

Hard to read with the rivet right in the middle of it.

I believe that was the first pattern 1936 with the mixed alloy/brass closure.
