Hi Guys, I got this lately from a farmer nearby here in Belgium . Looks WWII period to me as far as my memory goes on US stuff but can't figure out the insignias. They seems so "crude" ... Any info welcome :-)

It's a WW2 liner, lacking nape and chinstrap....Has extra holes added on the sides....The sixth infantry division used a similar star, but that was in red....Don't know the significance of the red chevron....Somebody playing army (?)....Bodes
