I've found at a flea market this dog tag

    Hello,
As already written I have found this brand!
Can one of you say to me,
By when is this dog tag?
The seller said it is a Airborne man?
Is there any information about the soldier?

I thank you for your help

    Hello
Have you searched on NARA ?
    https://aad.archives.gov/aad/series-list.jsp?cat=WR26
For me maybe post WW2, I think "54" is probably for 1954 ?
    Best regards

I think it's early 1960s era. The US stands for "draftee" and the "5" as the first digit of his service number is the region he was from (mid-west). It doesn't have the date of a tetanus shot so I think that post-dates the Korean War.

edit: Also, the religion is spelled out rather than a single character. "Roman Catholic" vs "C" which again was a post-war feature.

Can you get anything out of the soldiers?

Ronald J. Kopasz is an unusual name. I did a quick google search and came up with this:

          https://www.rapsheets.org/michigan/d..._RONALD/650382

He is in Michigan, which is in the mid-west and he was born in 1947 so he could have been drafted at 18 in 1965 and sent to Europe rather than Vietnam (we tend for forget that we still had a lot of soldiers in Europe......not everyone went to Vietnam)......

I don't if know if this is the guy or not. If it is it's too bad he wasn't some really infamous criminal
