Hello, i found this cap in a french antique shop.
It was found with a french front navy embroyed bullion insignia on the mohair band. The inner has a size marking (see pictures). The cap wears two (!!) white covers, one is marked Bancroft 50 years, ans the other show no markings but looks like US.
The visor top looks like leather, but the rim is made of black plastic (or looks so) it's not oil cloth..
Can this cap be a WW2 era used in lend lease, or a ww2 used on post war ex USN Ship sale to France ?
