That looks more like a high school marching band uniform to me.

I don't think it's military at all.

What do the buttons look like?

Any interior labels or stamps?

At this point I don't think that it is military, unless perhaps it is some State ceremonial uniform of some kind.

Buttons are US Eagle and are sewn in under liner so was constructed all at the same time . Came from what was a GAR post then turned into a American Legion Post . Which I bought out 6 years ago.

I might agree with you but the buttons are seen in under the liner , not through it .

IMHO the fact that the buttons appear to be US Army buttons means absolutely nothing. They were probably cheap and readily available, so that is what was used.

Perhaps this was some sort of ceremonial, band, or color guard unit for the American Legion post, but I stand by my initial impression that this is not a U.S. military uniform.
