This is a fixed bale 1st division officers helmet. With the name Lt. Fagan painted inside the shell.
The Div insignia is painted on the helmet front with medical tape Lt. insignia. The back has medical tape for officers stripe.
It has the first type Hawley liner.

I LOVE those liners. But SOOOO fragile.

Thanks for the pics. I have a LT lid with a painted front stripe and no rear. It's also a fixbale and from an estate sale. The liner is just a Firestone high pressure.. I'd love to get ahold of an officer's lid with a Hawley.

Sounds nice. Any Officers helmet is a great item to have.
I found this one at an estate auction. I have the guys dress uniform around somewhere.

OH!! You didn't mention you got it from an estate sale.. That is too schweet!

Once you know where it came from....

I'd rather have a generic lid from an estate sale or Vet purchase than a high end lid with no history... We're speaking sentimental reasons of course. without value being an issue... in my fake world of "what ifs" of course......
