This is the best portrait photo I have ever seen of a member of the Marines 6th Machine Gun Batl. which served in France in WWI
( notice the German made oval indian head patch in purple velvet ). Whats really intersting about it is the way he is wearing his collar discs. Instead of wearing them on the collar of his tunic, they are attached to his shirt collar, with the shirt collar being worn outside his tunic. Real different.
