    Help with aviation pin identification . . . .

    Initially, I thought these were Civil Air Patrol but I can't find any like it anywhere.

    Who wore these pins? Are they military or civilian?

    They are marked on the reverse:

    Washington DC
    Phila PA

    They are distinctive insignia for the WW 2 AAF Air Service Command. Enlisted personnel wore them on the lower lapels of their coats, and sometimes overseas caps; officers wore them on the shoulders of their coats. Approved 8 Jan 43.
