Help with ribbon

This ribbon bar came with a group of WWII uniform items belonging to a US Navy man. I do not recognize it and have searched through all my sources to figure out what it represents, but no luck. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance for any help!

Not US but french. Bronze Honourable Firefighter Medal. With additional Rosette it's the Silver one.

Perfect, thanks guys, I never would have found it. Is this something that could have been awarded to a US navy seaman who served in the ETO?

Very unlikely as it is like a good conduct Medal it was awarded after a service of 10 Years, so I doubt, the Navy borrowed him out to the French Fire Service for over 10 yrs.
Abe he got it as a kind of remembrance Item form a Fireman?
