On the front there is a plate that sayes:

On the lower right hand side there is a smaller plate. it says.

That's actually the "Handy Talkie" The "Walky Talkie" was a backpack unit.
The F designation means it has a compartment on the bottom for an earphone set, the lid & contents for the compartment appears to be missing from yours.
These were developed by Motorola, the same company that makes cell phones today. Market price is in the $150 range.
