    odd looking AAF collar disk

This odd looking collar disk came with an AAF waist gunner grouping.
As you can see it is smaller than the regular collar disk.
This is a first one for me and was hoping someone could shed some light on this as to why it is smaller and where it was used for. He served with the 15th (456th) in Italy if that is of any help.

      Tino-

That's homemade, not an issue item. Neat item, though.

Thanks again Kurt, who knows, maybe it's a sweetheart pin.
Allong with the grouping came this leather handcarved patch off his A2 jacket.
Unfortunately the patch lost most of it's color but still a pretty neat piece.
        It's marked "Lady Luck", it's 12 1/2 by 8 inches high.

        Thanks again,
        Tino
