      The 89th Armored Battalion was the armored force assigned to the 89th Division, US Army Reserve. They were out of Kansas. You won't find the number in the WWII Order of Battle, because it wasn't until after WWII that the reserve divisions got armored assets attached to them. The Texas Guard got the 49th and the New Jersey Guard got the 50th, for example.
