Another dumb question...... I have been told these were "demonstration" units. What does the DR stand for, was this a "Demonstration Regiment"??

Thanks! In the event there is someone out there who knows as little about these as I do, I'll ask another dumb question.

Exactly what did they demonstrate? Was it for instruction, tactics, parades....?

Pretty much all of the above. Mainly tactics & instruction, but also parades, "show & tell" for visiting dignitaries, etc.

That is a great patch! It's one of the hard to find armor patches. I'm still trying to find one for my collection!
