Thought I would share some pics of a rather interesting helmet liner I picked up the morning. It is a painted "parade" liner, most likely from the early Occupation ear. Has silver Captains bars on the front and a hand painted 1st Infantry Division patch. Each side has hand painted 18th Infantry Crests. None of the insignia are decals, they are all hand painted. Time has not been nice to the finish, but it still looks rather unique.

And now what is possibly the best part: the inside! It is an early low-pressure liner made by Sinclaire. It still has the non-removeable leather chin starp, but the snap-in sweatband has been replaced with a later war era sweatband. This model of helmet liner was only made for a short time. A rare liner indeed!.Attached Files

Nice find!! I really love those early low pressure liners. And the painted insignia and captain's bars really make it special.
Good going.
