    101st airborne patch

I know these patches have been discussed recently but still can't put my finger on dating this one.
Some help on dating this patch would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Tino

      Tino-

The white threads on the reverse are synthetic, not cotton. If you put a black light to it, it would glow. I'd say late 50's early 60's.

Thanks for your response Kurt, thats what my guess was also. What threw me off is that it didn't glow under the blacklight like some other patches that I have, thats when I decided to post it for an expert evaluation.

          Tino-

It doesn't glow? That really surprises me. Those threads sure have that silvery synthetic look. I'm still thinking post WW2 though based on the dark edging and the general appearance of the reverse.

Maybe I am reading the black light test wrong
Here is a picture under the black light.
I put some other items next to it for comparison, you can clearly spot the things that light up.
I let you guys be the judge.
Sorry for the bad pic, it wouldn't focus in the dark

I think that you were "reading" the blacklight test right, Tino. Certainly appears to be cotton rather than synthetic, at least from the pics and compared to the other items with it.
