US Submariner Group WWI

I recently acquired this little grouping, everything pictured came together. I am curious what people think of the group as this is far removed from my usual collecting field. I should note that the clasp on the medal is no longer attached, it has torn away and the ribbon is just laying on it. Thanks for looking!

I do not think the clasp is the standard issue type but it does look of the period.

Thanks to all who have looked and especially those who replied. I thought it was all pretty special myself, even though it is not in my line of collecting, as I said. I knew the bar on the medal was not standard issue but I'm certain it is original......and pretty cool. Thanks for looking.
