Korean War service medal question

I am looking for a Korean War service medal as I'm restoring my father in laws medals/ribbons. He was awarded 3 bronze stars. I know he would pin these 3 on the ribbon but would he also pin 3 stars on the medal also or would that be left blank. Any info greatly appreciated. Thanks, Glenn

Glen,

You can pin the 3 campaign stars to the cloth medal suspension. It is accepted to have all devices on both full size and mini medals as well as the ribbons. It is your option, if you are displaying both the ribbons and medals together you can leave them off the medal if you desire, or you can match ribbon and medal so they have the same devices..

Glad to see that you are preserving your father's history.

I did up my fathers display case for him 20 years ago. Also a Korean War veteran with the 7th Infantry Division. His shadow box still sits in his den today..
