    Korean War USA M1 helmet?

Hello! This is my first time in Wehrmacht-Awards.com! I just purchased an American WW2 helmet, but it seems to be a Korean War M1. The serial is I-7581. Apparently that means it is Korea-Era, but I am not sure. Can anyone help me?

    Thanks,

    MillerB

I don't know what you mean by a serial I-7581. It's going to be difficult to determine without photos. The location of the seam on the rim if on the rear is likely post-WWII but his is not always dispositive. Do you have a liner to go with the helmet?

Im thinking the I-7581 is the heat stamp number located on the inside brim area, and if i remember correctly the I is for the Ingersoll manufacture which should place this in the Vietnam era 1960s manufactured helmet but let me check some references to be sure, any pics of the helmet?....mike
