              Most Korean War vets in service went to Japan for R&R, you should go back and. See if he has a canon Leica camera he got when there...almost every vet bought one at the time...they were copies of the range Finder Leica the Germans gave the Japanese the lense grinding secrets to During WW2.
              Nice find ....what division was he in?

                        8th Engineer Combat Battalion from 17 August 1949; redesignated 8th Engineer Battalion on 18 May 1955.

                        BTW the green loops are Leaders Identification Insignia a.k.a. "combat leaders(hip) tabs."

                        Once again. great grouping, Ron. Excellent photography, too!
