          Thanks, Bolo! You are right; it appears to be Hungarian. Unlike the insignia on the helmet at frames #1 and #2, the North Korean insignia has an outer ring of blue and an inner ring in red as pictured here. I should have paid closer attention.

              KPA helmets during the War ( and still are ) where mostly Soviet surplus from WWII. From most of the evidence and pictures I have seen, they where not widely used. A few of the pre- Warsaw Pact armies forming behind the Iron Curtain in the early years also used these helmets. Buyer beware !
