North Korean Medal ????

I bought this from the son af a WW2/Korean War vet. By the looks of it I'd say NK, but hopefully you guys in the know can properly ID it for me.

Thank you for posting that, This is only the second NK item I've ever had, the other being a NK flag captured by a career colonel that I bought from him years ago. Not something I seem to run across.
