It is the Korean War medal given by UN to the Turkish troops and it is rare . Price US $250-300

These are often found with the blue/white ribbon removed and replaced by a red one as the Turks wouldn't wear the national colors of their traditional enemies the Greeks. I'm guessing this one was not awarded to a Turkish soldier.

Normally Turkish written ones were given to the Turkish troops. Yes some soldiers in order to protest USA's attitude towards the Turkish Government during a Cyprus crisis in June 1964 and a letter written by the then President Johnson, have sent their medals back and some had changed the ribbons. But not all of them I have 3 original ribboned medals in my collection.

        - President Lyndon B. Johnson's letter ( …."Furthermore, a military intervention in Cyprus by Turkey could lead to direct involvement by the Soviet Union. I hope you will understand that your NATO allies have not had a chance to consider whether they have an obligation to protect Turkey against the Soviet Union if Turkey takes a step which results in Soviet intervention without the full consent and understanding of its NATO allies….." summary: So he was saying that you are all alone against the Soviet Union although you are a member of NATO which was founded against the Soviet aggression)
This was the NATO solidarity and in my opinion it still is.
