This Japanese made patch was one of my finds at SOS.
The battalion was the 773rd Amp Tractor Bn in WW II (had their own patch, too). The 773rd was inactivated 15 Apr 1946 in Yokohama. It was redesignated the 56th in Dec 46, acitvated in 1949 at Ft. Worden, WA.
During the KW, Co A of the 56th participated in the Inchon landings. Co A seems to have most of the honors for the bn.
There is also an armor triangle patch for this battalion, but the owner is reluctant to allow photos. Phooey. If someone else has one feel free to share.
