I got a duffle bag with "USMC Trumans Police Force Korea" painted on it. Has anyone heard of this? It sounds like a negitive remark.

Yes, Truman used the technicality of the Marines acting as a ''police force'' to bypass Congressional approval to send forces to Korea. I think the term was more of a sarcastic joke early on, that became more negative as the war progressed.
Was this veteran a member of the 1st Provisional Marine Brigade?
PS Truman angered a lot of Marines when he referred to them as "the Navy's police force" in an August 1950 letter to a Congressman. If your veteran was politically astute, the ''police force'' jab could have a double meaning. -

I knew this fellow a USMC Sgt.. This guy was a "Die Hard Republican."
