    Kw tmrs

The WW 2 MRS gave way to the Korean War TMRS, and I have a couple of patches to share with you from that time frame. The T refers to transportation, as in TC.

The 712th TROB was active in Korea, and with the early nature of the war, at much greater risk than during WW2. Here are two of its patches. The second one is bullion and will have more info in the next post.

This bullion 712th TROB indicates the rail division began in Changyi, Korea.

Now, look at a the photo in the next post. Locomotive engineers tended to favor certain locomotives (or in this case, a switcher locomootive), so it's a good bet the engineer who had this patch is in the cool color photo! Look closely and you can see the switcher number is 2034, the same as on the patch!

        As to the patches.....

        Amazing !

The importance of railways in the Korean War is also indicated by the fact that the Peoples Republic of China had a specific award that was given to its "volunteers" who operated railways for North Korea in the war.

The US Army also had an extensive RR system in Japan during the KW. In addition to separate passenger trains for US military personnel and their families, there were hospital trains bringing the wounded to Army hospitals.

Here is the patch from the 8010th AU, TMRS. The patch design is also on a menu and a train schedule dated 1952.

Am sorry, that 712th TROB locomotive pic is too small. Now you can see the numbers. Try this:
