    Battle Patrols

During WW 2, some of the US Army units experimented with Battle Patrols, which were small platoon-company sized units, comprised of volunteers. In essence, they were divisional ranger units - similar missions - I & R, POW captures, special assault teams, etc. This carried over into the KW, especially in the 3rd ID.

Here are a couple of insignia from the 3rd ID in Korea. The first is for the 15th IR BP and the scroll is the I R Plt, 65th RCT BP. The figures at the top of each end are "Devils" (diablos in Spanish). Comments welcome.

Not to be outdone, Oklahoma's 45th ID had "Raider" (NOT the same as 8245 AU) units which operated for certain in the 179th IR.

Am sure there must be other BP and Raider units with insignia.............
