Here is mine. I wore this in Europe as a soldier and it was one of the few things I kept. I bought it in a surplus store in the 1970s for 30 US with the liner. It was much better quality then the synthetic liners they were issuing by then. Coat is dated Nov. 1952 and the liner 1956.

Still looking for a nice parka. The one at ebay was way to high priced.
I'm willing to pay $200-300 for a nice one, but 700 forget it.

$200 is way too much. Just keep looking on e-pay; you'll eventually find a shell for a decent price. You can get the liner separately, as well; some sites have them - I think they're "frieze" liners, for $40-$50.

Since my pants and most of the field gear is in almost mint I'll ask nothing else for the parka and it must be in size L.

I need to point out that these parkas are over-sized, i.e, they are larger than the indicated size, in order to fit over extra clothing and gear. I don't if you're planning on wearing it for an impression, but that's something to consider.

Hight of the dummy the uniform is to be on is 180 + cm (6feet).
What would be the correct size Medium or Large.

Probably large, on guard duty we wore these over the field jacket with Mickey mouse boots and the trousers etc and as noted they are over-sized and designed to be worn over everything else. When moving we preferred to wear the parka directly over the sweater without the tunic or field jacket with the field pants and suspenders. The parka was so warm by itself you would overheat quickly when moving etc. if you wore the parka with the sweater underneath you would not over heat and could open the front of the parka and cool off quickly. In the full suit with the parka and lined trousers it was hard to move anywhere and the crap weighed a ton. If it got wet and froze it was over. We would clean each other off with brooms before entering tents etc. to get the snow off.

But do I missed something? 195 Pounds. The other one sold for 250 Pounds. Maybe I have to raise my prices! For my own one, new from the box, I paid 70 Euros. Maybe not to get in these day's. I t4hink to remember that pattern date was March 51 and mine is from may 51.

Not long ago I purchased a heavy cotton M51 parka with the heavy Alpaca lining (as in the ebay listing) however the sleeve fasteners did not reach all the way to the buttons on the inside of the sleeves; I later read that those linings were actually for the M1948 parkas.
