    Dandong museum

Last year I went to Dandong city on the North Korean / Chinese border.
They have a great museum on the war from the Chinese point of view which is very interesting and well put together.
You can also go right up to the fenced border and look out over NK. Also did a boat tour along the Yalu river. One side is China and the other is NK. You can clearly see NK soldiers and civilians on the river bank. It is all very interesting.

No photos of what they had in the museum?

sorry I did not take photos. That day I had a flu bug, and only barely managed to walk.
Great museum though. Lots of captured US gear.

They also have a big outdoor tarmac area with lots of Korean war era Chinese military equipment on display.
On the top floor of the musuem there is a big diorama room. You stand in the middle on a revolving platorm. It gives the sensastion of being in the middle of a battle and is quite well done.

Going in winter to this area, like I did, gives you an appreciation of the extreme, bitter cold the troops had to endure during the war. I had to cover my whole face with scarves, just leaving a slit for my eyes.
