Is this a North Korean belt ?

I'm two people removed from the veteran but I'm curious if this (as it was told to me) North Korean. The story is the vet brought it back from the Korean War. The belt plate looks like brass plated with chrome. The fabric belt is a plum color.

It looks like a DPRK officer's belt to me.
We are breaking new ground with this forum in many ways, since I don't think the Korean War material has received much study.
I'm going to check some of my books to try to give you a more definite answer!

You're right, there's not much information or photos on North Korean uniforms or memorabilia out there.
I look forward to seeing if you have any luck in finding out information on the belt.

I do not think this is a officer belt,as the officer should be equipted with leather belt or leather belt with a cross shoulder strap.
This belt looks like more for EM/NCO.However,this belt looks like a vietnamese people's army belt as the buckle is similar.
